What is Moxibustion?

Acupuncture treatments may be completed with Moxibustion(moxa). Moxibustion is an old technique using dried leaves rolled in a cylindrical shape as a cone or stick. When lit, moxa burns slowly with a mild scent. Applied directly or indirectly above the skin over a specific acupuncture point. Moxa provides a penetrating heat that is presumed to influence the flow of blood and qi. Moxa is widely practiced in China, and regular treatment is believed to be helpful in preventing disease.
